Food Menus

Our menus change with the season and obviously use local ingredients where possible, ensuring the best produce. Pretty much everything is made, cured or smoked in-house. We are not a restaurant we are a pub but our chefs insist on food excellence.

In the pub there is a regularly changing menu from day-boat landed fish and chips, well-aged steaks from well reared cattle, a pie to more substantial mains such as pan fried loin of venison with roasted garlic, mash and curly kale. Plenty of naughty puddings such as: Buttermilk pudding with gooseberry, Pimms and summer berry jelly with thick double cream and raspberry sorbet or dark chocolate truffle with hazelnut and sea salt ice cream, and always fabulous local cheese available by the slice.

Daily Menu Breakfast

Sunday Lunch

At the core of every great pub is a great Sunday roast – ours is an informal affair where everyone is welcome to come and tuck into a truly great roast (or lighter options) and reward yourself for a hearty  Sunday morning country walk or feel ready for one. Children can run around in the garden or play board games leaving parents and grandparents some space to enjoy a drink or two. Above all you save on the washing up, and we aim to offer you something special at great prices.

A traditional pub bar with a range of local ales  (including our own Lord Poulett Ale) and ciders, quality lagers and an interesting and varied wine list. Beers are supplied by local brewery Butcombe.

There are several fireplaces in the bar warming mulled wine and cider in the winter.
